Topix Intermediate Peel

What Is a Topix Intermediate Peel?

A Topix Intermediate Peel Replenix® MD Perfect 10 Peel is an ideal solution for patients seeking results from a chemical peel.  This peel is specially formulated to be used with patients as a step up from Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid or similar peels.

The Topix Intermediate Peel improves the appearance of dull and uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and sun damage, discolorations, large pores and skin roughness. Patients will often see a significant improvement in pigmented areas.

How Does It Work?

The Topix Intermediate Peel works from the inside-out to encourage cell stimulation, support increased collagen production and strengthen the skin’s protective layer to encourage a more youthful and healthier appearance. It also eliminates the buildup of dead skin cells resulting in instant results.

The Topix Intermediate Peel procedure includes an activator, which is applied to clean, dry skin.  After the activator is added, the peel solution is applied to the treated areas, where it will remain for several minutes. The peels are specially formulated to deliver a precise combination acid blend, controlled dosing and concentration.

When done, the peel will be washed off with a neutralizing alkaline solution.

Are There Any Side Effects?

For the first two or three days after the procedure, you may experience a sunburn-like effect with redness and possible swelling while the outer layers of the skin dry up and peel away up to the next 10 days.  Use of a daily SPF 30+ sunscreen is necessary.  You may continue to use makeup, if desired, though use of a regular moisturizer is recommended.  You can return to your pre-peel regimen once your skin has returned to normal.

The peel is not recommended for individuals with eczema, sunburn, active herpes simplex, rosacea, asthma, pregnancy, lupus or recent use of Accutane. Additionally, the Peel is not indicated for patients who have a history or potential for hypo- or hyper-pigmentation.
